Select the instrument type (guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, etc.) and click to start tuning. Playing a string, the tool captures the sound through a microphone, analyzes the fundamental frequency, and displays the current sound name and deviation from the target pitch. A left pointer indicates low, and a right pointer indicates high.

Pitch detection uses an autocorrelation algorithm or YIN algorithm to extract the fundamental frequency from the audio signal. Standard pitch A4 = 440Hz, other pitches are calculated according to the twelve average law. The tool displays the frequency value and pitch deviation in real time (1 pitch = 1/100 semitone).

It is suitable for tuning string instruments such as guitar, bass, ukulele, violin, and zither. It is also used for fixed pitch instruments such as piano and harmonica.
