Live Photo to GIF is a free online tool. Convert an iPhone Live Photo into a GIF.
Upload a Live Photo file (usually a MOV video or a HEIC + MOV combination), and the tool extracts the video portion and decodes it into a sequence of frames, which is then encoded into a GIF animation. Frame rate, size and quality can be adjusted.
The video portion of Live Photo is usually a 3-second MOV file. The tool uses Video elements to decode on the browser side, captures frames through Canvas and encodes them into GIF. All processed locally, no files are uploaded.
It is suitable for converting live photos taken by iPhone into GIF and sharing them on platforms that do not support Live Photo. It is also used to extract dynamic effects from Live Photo to make emoticons.
