Chromatic Dispersion is a free online visual effect. A beam of white light enters a prism and disperses — each wavelength bends differently — fanning out into a rainbow spectrum. Interactive eye-candy rendered live on your screen. It runs entirely in your browser — no download or sign-up needed.
After opening the page, it will display the effect of white light passing through the prism and decomposing into a rainbow color spectrum, simulating the real dispersion phenomenon. Parameters such as prism angle, dispersion intensity, and light source position can be adjusted.
The entire process is purely front-end animation, based on WebGL-based shader programs, using a model of refractive index varying with wavelength to simulate dispersion.
