Klotski is a free online game. Slide the blocks to free Cao Cao from the board. Play instantly — no install, no waiting. It runs entirely in your browser — no download or sign-up needed.
There are a number of squares of different sizes on the chessboard in 4 columns and 5 rows: a large 2×2 square (Cao Cao), five 1×2 or 2×1 long strips (Five Tiger Generals), and four 1×1 small squares (small soldiers). There is an exit in the middle at the bottom of the chessboard.
The goal is to move the 2×2 square to the exit position. You can slide one square at a time to adjacent empty spaces. The squares cannot overlap or exceed the chessboard. The classic layout of "Cross-cutting and Immediate" requires at least 81 steps.
The key to solving the problem is to make way for the large square while avoiding blocking the space. The direction of the long square (horizontal/vertical) affects mobility. Use CSS Grid to layout the chessboard, drag and drop or click to move the squares, and detect collisions to prevent overlap.
In the Huarong Road game, slide squares of different sizes on the 4×5 chessboard and move the largest square from the top to the exit. The squares cannot overlap.
